Cash-n-Carry Looks At 2011 In Review
So much of the time we write about older makes and models of cars because let’s face it, Cash-n-Carry is a Savannah salvage yard dealing with salvage parts and most of those parts come from older vehicles. But today we thought we would discuss the current state of automobiles in America, the good and the bad.
Before we go any further we should state that without a doubt car manufacturers at home and abroad are making much better product than they did ten years ago. The craftsmanship is remarkable in most instances and there has never been a better time to buy a new car than today. In America alone almost one million new cars are purchased each and every month and most of those cars are of quality workmanship and reliable for years.
That being said, today we are going to look at some of the flops or disasters in 2011. For whatever reason, these cars either performed much worse than expected or their sales were horrendous, as was the case of the Chevrolet Aveo, which sold only 65 cars nationwide last month. It does not take a marketing expert to note that 65 new sales are not going to generate any parties at Chevrolet headquarters.
Nor are the makers of the Smart Fortwo dancing in the streets with new car sales of only 327 last month, down significantly from last year.
Volkswagon for some reason decided to re-design the Jetta for 2011 and the results were horrendous. This year’s Jetta had poorer handling and more sluggish steering while the interior suddenly looked….well….tacky.
Other losers in 2011 were the Lincoln MKT, the Acura ZDX and the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. All underperformed in sales for a variety of reasons.
If you are the “proud” owner of any of these cars then you have our condolences but rest assured when you need replacement parts for them we will be there for you. All you have to do is bring your tools to our Savannah salvage yard and You Pull It for great savings. And hey, if you really do own a clunker and want to get rid of it we will pay you cash for your car and you can look forward to the new 2012 models. No matter what the American, German, Korean and Japanese automakers come up with
