Nissan Versa: Dependable and Affordable

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

One of the new kids on the Nissan block, the Nissan Versa is everything you would expect in a economy car from Nissan, namely solid construction, excellent craftsmanship and wonderful fuel economy. What it does not deliver is excitement. Having said that, this is a very dependable vehicle and would serve well as a first car for the college-bound teen or a lovely second car for in-city transportation.

Powered, and we use that term loosely, by a 1.6-liter engine in its base model and 1.8-liter in the S and SL, the Versa is surprisingly quick, accelerates nicely and shifts smoothly. It has ample and probably more-than-ample headroom and legroom and has some great extras among its standard interior features.   With 107 horses powering the drive it manages to get up to highway speed easily and offers a very smooth city ride. However, over rough road it shows its deficiencies as the ride tends to be a bit bumpy.

Overall the Versa is a nice little car that is exactly what it is supposed to be and it is priced reasonably and offers great gas mileage. You could certainly do a lot worse than buying a Nissan Versa.

First introduced in 2007, the first generation Versas on the road haven’t even used up their initial warranty yet, and being Nissans there is a great chance that they will perform admirably and trouble-free well past their warranty. Having said that, if you get a chance to grab up some Versa used auto parts then by all means do so because the state of imports and exports has these replacement auto parts from Japan more expensive than they once were.

Since they are so new there are few Versas found in salvage yards as of yet but the occasional one does find its way to Cash-n-Carry, the Savannah salvage yard where You Pull It for huge savings on salvage parts. If you are a Versa owner and you see one on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/iluvused then by all means get in here and buy up some replacement auto parts immediately. As an added incentive for the month of October everyone visiting the Facebook page will get a coupon good for 30% off one item, limit one per customer, so what better month to do some shopping for the future?

The Nissan Versa is dependable but that doesn’t mean that replacement parts won’t be needed; with savings like those offered in October it would be silly to pass up the opportunity to grab some Versa used parts if they are available.
