Scrap Aluminum Is Money In Your Pocket

Why recycle old aluminum radiators? Well, there are many reasons but how about we start with the most important one: because it’s the right thing to do! Aluminum is classified as a scrap metal and as such can be melted down and re-formed into new radiators and other items using aluminum. Doing this saves in mining for new metals and the end product is that it is good for the environment if we can lessen the amount of mining. True, it may not be good for miners, but the big picture prompts us to support anything that helps the environment.

Secondly, the coolant in the radiator is nothing if not toxic. The main ingredient in coolant is ethylene glycol, which is a hazardous waste, as are the other ingredients which include lead, cadmium, and chromium. Released into the ground they will destroy the soil, leaving it useless for growing plant life, and they will also seep into the groundwater, eventually polluting the water and thus hurting aquatic life as well as polluting our water supplies.

These statements of FACT have been said so many times that it is questionable whether the average American is listening and absorbing the news, but they are facts nonetheless. Recycling scrap metals like scrap aluminum helps everyone.

If you need another incentive how about the fact that if you recycle your scrap radiators you will receive money for them? Recycle centers and scrapyards like Cash-n-Carry and their new division Cars and Cores will pay money for scrap metal so why in the world would you not take your old radiator to a scrapyard and make some extra cash? The value of aluminum depends, of course, on the purity of the metal, which is determined by its hardness, texture, and strength, and of course the going market price for that scrap metal, but anyway you cut it you will receive cash for your scrap metal by taking it to a scrapyard and selling it.

So here’s a suggestion; scrap a car, sell off the scrap metal cluttering your yard, take it all to a scrapyard, and make some money. You will walk away richer and you’ll just feel good about doing the right thing. Everybody win, nobody loses, and Mother Earth will be quite happy!
