Nissan Canada, Cash-n-Carry and Holiday Wishes
The topic of today’s article is Nissan Canada, a rather wide-ranging topic if ever there was one. Where to start?
We could talk briefly about the troubles Nissan has had providing the new Nissan Leaf to their Canadian customers. As you may or may not know, the 2011 allocation of the Nissan Leaf sold out in two hours, and the 2012 allocation did not go too smoothly either. In an odd response Nissan made an offer to those who lost out on the Leaf; Nissan offered $5,500 off any Nissan gas-fueled vehicle. Not surprisingly there were few takers since those who would be interested in the all-electric Leaf certainly wouldn’t be interested in a gas-powered vehicle. The saga, as they say, continues.
Kudos to Nissan Canada for their humanitarian work in Canada. They are quite active in Habitat For Humanity in Canada and also started the Nissan Canada Foundation with has as its mission to improve the quality of life for senior citizens by heavily investing in programs such as “Meals on Wheels.”
We find it interesting that there is no Nissan manufacturing plant in Canada; considering the fact that they are in eighteen different countries why in the world would they not be in Canada? Evidently the Tennessee plant that is the North American Headquarters can handle all things North American.
So there you have everything we found interesting about Nissan Canada. Chances are excellent that we left out quite a bit and if you were interested in sales figures there is no doubt you can google those and find out quickly. What we at Cash-n-Carry would like to talk about is a subject near and dear to our collective heart.
A couple months ago we started a fundraiser to help the students and staff at Haven Elementary School in Savannah. This was, and is, the perfect fundraiser for our customers because it doesn’t cost you a single penny. All that we ask is that you go to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/iluvused and “like” us and we will donate $1 to the school. Our goal is to raise $5,000 before the end of the year and quite frankly we are well short of that goal with two weeks to go. This is so simple and maybe that is the problem; maybe people think there is a catch to this but honestly that’s it; go to our Facebook page and like us and we give money to the school. In addition if you are at our Savannah salvage yard looking around at replacement auto parts, go to our Facebook page while you are at our junk yard and tell us and we will donate another dollar to the school. See how easy this is? Seriously, we need your help and we have two weeks to pull this off. Let’s make this a very special Christmas for Haven Elementary School and from all of us at your favorite salvage yard, and very Happy Holiday Season to all of you.
